Geraldine M. Alford

May 4, 1920 – Feb 28, 2009

Mrs. Geraldine M. Alford, 88, passed away at Lakeshore Manor on Saturday, February 28, 2009. She was born in Hayward, WI on a Native American reservation called “Reserve” on May 4, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (nee: LaRonge) Dennis. On October 13, 1951, she married Gordon Alford. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1992. Mrs. Alford was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. She was a devoted homemaker and worked as a nanny for numerous families in Racine. Mrs. Alford was a kind and gentle lady with a loving heart and sweet smile. She enjoyed visiting with her friends at Lake Oaks while sitting in her favorite chair. Her survivors include her daughter, Charlene Alford; sister, Joyce Erhardt; sister-in-law, Betty Alford all of Racine; all the loving children and their families that she cared for, Jim and Rena Diem; their children, Katie, Jimmy and Jonny; Lynne and Todd Cassidy; their daughter, Ellen; P.J. and Amy Noelke; their daughter, Emma; Ryan, Andrew and Daniel Freres; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Dennis. Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. for the celebration of her life with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
