
Racine – Heinrich Knoch, 83, received the promise of eternal life on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Although of German heritage, he was born in Bastai, Croatia on October 13, 1930, son of the late George and Eva (nee: Heberling) Knoch. The family moved to Slatina, Yugoslavia in 1944. From there he moved to Austria for 11 years before finally settling in Racine in 1955.
Heinrich was united in marriage to the love of his life, Katharina Muschi, on May 16, 1959, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Racine.
Heinrich enjoyed watching sports, especially his children and grandchildren. He liked traveling with Katharina and they toured such locations as Germany, St. Thomas, and all over the United States. Heinrich enjoyed spending time fishing and took trips with his boys to Canada when they were younger. He treasured his family and will be dearly missed.
Heinrich leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 54 years, Katharina Knoch of Racine; children, Joe (Bonita) Knoch, Henry (Cindy) Knoch, Fred (Greta) Knoch, John (Laura) Knoch all of Racine; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Poblocki of Pewaukee, Krista (Brian Kaprelian) Knoch, Kristopher Knoch, Justin Knoch, Karli Knoch, Brenna Knoch, Kolton Knoch, all of Racine; great-grandchildren, Chase Poblocki, Lucien Knoch; sister, Eva Flohr of Racine; brother-in-law, Horst Naumann of Racine; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, Heinrich is preceded in death by his brother, George Knoch; sister, Elizabeth Naumann; daughter-in-law, DeAnna Knoch; and brother-in-law, Jakob Flohr.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, 11:00am, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street, with Rev. John D. Roekle officiating. Visitation will be on Monday evening, October 28, 2013, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will continue at church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The family would like to say “Thank You” to the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints ICU staff as well as the third floor staff of Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Milwaukee for the care that they gave to Heinrich during his time of illness.
