Ira Keith Cribbs

Jun 17, 1963 – Jan 6, 2010

Ira K. Cribbs, 46, died at W.F.H. – All Saints on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.

   He was born in Columbus, MS on June 17, 1963, the son of Ira and Matilda (nee: Henley) Cribbs, Jr.  On March 24, 2001 he married the former René Curtis. 

   Ira faithfully served as a ministerial servant and regular pioneer for the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – Sheridan Woods Congregation. Ira also proudly served as a nurse’s aide for the State of Wisconsin, working for both the Winnebago State Hospital and most recently, the Southern Wisconsin Center. 

   Ira was a warm, fun loving person who enjoyed helping and working with others.  He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.  He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

   In addition to his loving wife, René Cribbs, he is survived by his children, Nashay Marie Curtis-Cribbs, Ronald Ira Curtis-Cribbs; his parents, Ira and Matilda Cribbs, Jr; sister and brother, Kathryn Cribbs, Kevin Cribbs; grandmother, Katherine Phifer all of Racine; step grandmother, Elizabeth Henley all of Starksville, MS; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie and Carolyn Curtis of Chicago; as well as many dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and dear friends.  Ira was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Carrie Buck, Sr., James Henley, Sr.; aunt, Raimi Cheeks and uncles, Henry Oakland and Cedric Henley.

   Family and friends are invited to meet at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (1600 N. Summerset Dr. in Racine next to Roma Lodge) on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at noon for Ira’s memorial service.  There will be time to gather and meet with the family from 10:30 until the time of the service.
