Ivy J. Wright was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Willie Mae (Taylor) and James Wright on February 23, 1973. Ivy passed away November 7, 2016 after a long courageous battle with cancer in which he fought very diligently.

Ivy is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbara Ann Taylor and Paternal Grandmother Irean Dixon.

Ivy attended CVS Chicago Vocational High School where he enjoyed playing Basketball.

Ivy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago.

Ivy met Patricia Queen in 2010 and they were married on December 5, 2012, in Waukegan, IL

Ivy was employed at Case In Racine, WI until his diagnosis in 2011.Ivy greatly enjoyed life, family  and friends, Friday night poker games, cars and fashion. Devoted Sports Fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears. Ivy was loved by many for his quick witted humor, bright smile, willingness to help others and his own personal swag. Ivy would brighten any room he walked into and was a stranger to no one – attributed that he was the best ‘Stepper’ on the map!

Ivy leaves to cherish his life and memories to his Wife Patricia Wright, his children Chenika Wright, Kenika Wright,Ivory Wright, Ivy Wright Jr, Alexandria Queen, Alicia Pettway, Marqus Pettway Jr, Jovonna and Justine Edmond and Horace Phillips. Ivy also was the very proud Papa of 15 Grandchildren who loved him so very much who delighted and screamed his name each and every time they saw him. Siblings Clyde Wright, Jessie Taylor, Patricia (Donnie) Brown, Elvis Brown, James Wright Jr., Victor and Jennifer Wright. Charesse and Jeremy Pittman, Margaret Wright, Jamie Davis and James Wright III. Mother and Father -In- Law Ethel & Tallye Queen and Sister -In- Law Debbie (Larry) Banks. Aunts Shirley Moore, Delois Davis, Loistean Davis all of St. Louis, MO and Sammie Huff of Florida. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins and a very dear and bonded friend and brother William Armstrong.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m.  The celebration of his Life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fred Richmond officiating.
