Jacob Alexander Lott

Mr. Jacob A. Lott, 88, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

   He was born in Enterprise, MS on June 23, 1924, the son of the late Daniel and Lula (nee: Haynes) Lott.

   Mr. Lott proudly served his nation with the US Army during WWII.  He retired from Webster Electric after over 20 years of service.  He was a longtime faithful member of Midtown Church of Christ and a former board member of the George Bray Center.  He was an asset to the community and will be dearly missed.

   He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Betty (nee: Rockett) Lott; his children, Lula (John) Garrett, Freddie Marsh-Lott, Steve (Martha) Lott, Greg Lott, Valeria (Henry) Conner, Jr.,  Willie (Elaine) Lott, Renee (Henry) Lee, Tammy Gandy, Tonette (Brian) Miller, Perry Lott, Janice Lott, Tiffany (Dewayne) Stevenson, Rapheal (Kay) Jones, Edna Robbins, Sandra (Dwight) Person; 35 grandchildren, 51great grandchildren,7 great-great grandchildren; his sister, Mary (Willie) McLain; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Hattie Lott, Ruby Moore, Lula Turner, John (Louise) Rockett, Jerry (Wanda) Rockett, Elsie Roberson, Fareeda (Alhassan) Dadzie, Eddie (Ruby) Marsh, Frank (Phyllis) Marsh, Margaret (Randy) Harris; as well as a host of dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Mr. Lott was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida Mae (nee: Marsh) Lott; his daughter, Helen Lott; son, William “Vernon” Lott; grandson, Anthony First, Jr.; a special Uncle and Aunt that raised him, George and Beatrice Haynes; brothers, William (Terry) Lott, John Lott and mother-in-law, Idell Marsh.

   Family and friends are invited to meet at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday evening for a visitation from 4-7 p.m.  A Homegoing service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Midtown Church of Christ (1704 13th St.) with Brother Michael Moore officiating.   There will also be a visitation in the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.  His interment will follow the service at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
