Willmer Lawrence Guillaume, 70, passed away in the Hospice House-Pleasant Prairie, on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was born in Mosinee, WI on June 30, 1947, the son of the late William and Helen (nee: Springer) Guillaume.
On February 13, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Marie Springer. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Willmer had been employed by the J.I. Case Co. for 30 years. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, the Case 20 Year Club, Local #180 retirees, the American Legion Post #0494, the Midwest Street Machines Club, and Oldsmobile Club of America. Willmer enjoyed fishing, restoring and repairing cars, car shows, watching wrestling, buffets, and all of his collectable street cars. He liked spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; children, Gene (Tanya) Guillaume, Eileen (Christopher Garcia) Guillaume, all of Racine, Justin Guillaume, of Mt. Pleasant, Craig (Tammy) Guillaume, and Ricky Guillaume, both of Wausau; seven grandchildren, Riley, Savannah, Mason, Kaitlynn, Alivia, Casey, and Andrea; great granddaughter, Lillian Rose; siblings, Ralph (Geri) Guillaume, Wilfrid Guillaume, Donald Guillaume, all of Scofield, WI, Eugene (Gladys) Guillaume, of Columbus, GA, and Margaret Filtz, of Neenah, WI; sisters-in-law, Lois Guillaume, of Wausau, and Denise Guillaume, of Green Bay, WI, brother-in-law, Ray Leiber, of Wausau. Willmer is also survived by his furry friend KoKo, nieces, nephews, other relatives, car buddies, and a host of friends.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Thursday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Followed by full military honors. Private burial will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
