Racine- Jane A. Mickelson, 79, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints Medical Center on Friday, April 13, 2007. A lifetime resident, Jane was born in Racine to the late Charles W. and Katherine S. Mickelson, Sr. A graduate of Washington Park High School, Jane went on to attend the University of Wisconsin – Extension; and proudly earned a piano teaching degree. Many years ago, she had been employed by Wisconsin Natural Gas. Following, Jane decided to join her family in operating their Mickelson’s Market on Lathrop Avenue until 1977 and Shore Acres Motel in Kenosha until 1989. Jane was a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, formerly known as Holy Innocents. She also was a member of the Woman’s Club of Kenosha. Jane enjoyed attending symphony concerts and being in the surroundings of family and friends. Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Herman Edgerly; niece, Kathy (Dave) Aschauer, all of Racine; nephew, Gary (Lisa) Edgerly; and great-nephew, Jake Edgerly, all of Sturtevant. Jane is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Mickelson, Jr. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 10 am with Fr. David R. Miracle officiating. Interment will follow next to Jane’s mother in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 9-10 am. In memory of Jane, memorials to the Habitat for Humanity or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested. A special note of thanks to Ridgewood Care Center for the compassionate care and understanding during this past difficult year for Jane. Your kindness to her will always be remembered!

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
