Mount Pleasant – Mrs. Janet D. Kintzler, 84, passed away at the Woods of Caledonia on December 27, 2017, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A lifelong resident of Racine, she was born on February 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Pedar and Lillian (nee: Larsen) Jeppesen.  On August 11, 1953, she married the love of her life, Burton David Kintzler.  He preceded her in death on July 13, 2007.

Janet was a lifelong member of Bethania Lutheran Church.  After 25 years, she retired from the business office at Carthage College.  During retirement Janet and Burt loved vacations in Pass Christian, MS along with several trips abroad including finding numerous relatives in Denmark.  Most important to Janet was her family and friends and the times they shared.  She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Murray) Jones of Franklin and Julie (Don) Hansen of Caledonia; her grandchildren, Katie (Bret) Wagner of Fitchburg, Brett (Nicole) Hauch of Franklin, Jacob Hansen of Madison, Steven (Amy) Jones of Rowlett, TX; her great grandchildren, Soren and Annika Wagner, Jack and Nolan Hauch and Campbell Jones; her brother, Richard Jeppesen; her son-in-law, Tom Hauch; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Phyllis Poelman, Dorothy Pellegrino, Elaine Kintzler and David Kintzler all of Racine; as well as many dear nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Honey Buckley and daughter #3, Gale Pucci.  In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Kennedy Noelle Wagner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandi Jeppesen, Carol Braun, Harry Kintzler, Bud Poelman and Glenn Pellegrino.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Bethania Lutheran Church (4120 Wright Ave) on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  A service celebrating her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Heather Bumstead officiating.  A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Charity: Water; which provides clean water to third world countries. https://my.charitywater.org/janetkintzler/memorial

The Kintzler family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staffs at the Woods of Caledonia and Hospice Alliance for the loving and professional attention Janet received while under their care.

I always enjoyed the hospitality that Burt and and Janet provided every time my family would visit Racine. Their back deck was a place of many family conversations and lasting memories.
I will cherish these visits and memories. Now for you girls Terri and Julie I always think about you and watching you grow up to be the fine ladies that you are today.
Your Family will be in my thoughts and prayers ⛪️
