MOUNT PLEASANT – Jean Berg Kuehl, 80, passed away with her brother and sister by her side at Ascension All Saints on Friday, December 1, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Racine, she was born on October 31, 1937, the daughter of the late Russel and Marion (nee: DeNoble) Falk.  She graduated from Lutheran High School.

Jean worked as a manager for Diamond Transportation for over 40 years.  She was a lifetime member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she held several positions including; managing communion assistants and serving on the altar guild.  She enjoyed bowling leagues, golfing and cooking.

She is survived by her son, Edward (Ann) Hansen, Jr; her granddaughter, Stacey Hansen both of Eau Claire; her step-children, Candy (Ron) Wasmundt of Weston, WI and Chris (Randy) Backhaus of Amber, WI; her brother and sister, John  (Belinda) Falk of Crawford, GA, Janice (Douglas) Brandies of Racine and her best friend, Christine Miller of Racine.  She is further survived by six great grandchildren; as well as step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Jean was also preceded in death by her brother, James Falk; her husbands, James Berg and Jack Keuhl and her former husband, Edward Hansen, Sr.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (2417 Drexel Ave) on Friday, December 8, 2017 for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 a.m.  A service celebrating and remembering her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harvard Stephens, Jr. Her interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.   Memorials have been suggested to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jean’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Ascension All Saints for the excellent attention she received while under their care.

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.
