~~Racine – Jean M. Seiser (nee Molnar), 83, fell asleep in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and immediately joined His heavenly Church Triumphant on Monday, December 28, 2015.
Jean was born at home in Milwaukee, WI, as she always said “…at the foot of the bed”, the only child of Eugene and Edna Olson Molnar on August 31, 1932. She lived her early formative years on Milwaukee’s north side attending Auer Ave. elementary, Peckham Jr. HS and then graduating from Washington High School class of June 1950. It was at Washington that she met and fell in love with her classmate and future husband, Neal. She always told everyone that she asked him out on their first date because he was too bashful. Following high school she worked at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. until 1956.
The couple was married in a candlelight ceremony at Gethsemane Ev. Lutheran Church on Milwaukee’s south side on June 30, 1956, and promptly moved to Evansville, IN where Neal had a new job. They moved to Racine with a son (Kurt) and dog in tow and a daughter (Karen) on the way in late November 1958, when Neal accepted a position with S.C. Johnson.
Jean was and will be remembered as a very warm hearted person who always put her family and others first. She was extremely proud of her Christian Lutheran faith, and was never ashamed or apologetic to be called or referred to as a Christian. She was particularly proud that she came to this faith as an adult, and was both baptized and confirmed on her 20th birthday before the attending congregation at Gethsemane Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. She and Neal have been members of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia, for more than 50 years.
There is a long list of volunteer work and other accomplishments on her personal resume. Jean was a volunteer reader in the Head Start program at Racine’s Mitchell school, and later was a track assistant for students at Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia. She was a Professional Home Administrator for almost 60 years keeping her home well stocked, orderly and filled with smiles, hugs and love. She was always at home until after the kids left for school and before they came home. She loved reading, gardening and was a skilled seamstress designing and sewing many of her personal clothes. Jean also worked (part time so it wouldn’t interfere with family activities) at the Racine Sears store for 25 years retiring in 1988.
The last 15 years were not particularly kind to Jean as health problems complicated her quality of life. First, aged macular degeneration struck severally limiting her vision and impacting everything that was dear to her. Then, in 2010, she was diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer, a disease she fought and conquered for five years.
Jean is survived and deeply missed by her immediate family; Neal, her husband for more than 59 -years, Kurt (Racine) and Karen (Madison, WI) along with relatives and friends. Final arrangements were completed according to her specific wishes.
A service remembering her life will take place at 11:00 am January 16, 2016, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 7900 Nicholson Rd, Caledonia, WI with her two favorite Pastors, Rev. David Wierschke and Rev. Emile Burgess, participating. Family members will be available for visitation beginning at 10:00 am. If a memorial is being considered, please direct it to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
The Seiser family extends a special and deep-hearted thank you to everyone who helped and touched Jean’s life in these last difficult weeks. This includes Wheaton Franciscan All Saints hospital and especially those wonderful, compassionate, professionals of the 5th floor staff at Lakeshore Manor and Hospice Allliance, and her personal doctor, Mark DeCheck, MD, a truly wonderful doctor and even better person.
All of her adult life, Jean liked to send visitors and friends away with one of her favorite Biblical passages. On behalf of Jean, we, her devoted children and husband who loved her so much, would like to extend that same blessing to all who touched her life.
“The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine on you and be gracious to you;
The LORD look on you with favor and give you peace!”
Rest in the arms of the Lord, dear, we love you!
