CALEDONIA – Mrs. Jeanette “Jan” Matson-Hansen, 94, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
She was born in Appleton on March 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Michael and Elma (nee: Nettekoven) Hartzheim. She graduated from Washington Park High School. Jan work for many years at Hamilton Beach and Ametek.
On September 2, 1993 she married Quinten Hansen. He preceded her in death 0n September 21, 1999.
Jan is survived by her daughters and sons, Sandra Matson of Chicago, Carol (Ed Schubring) Matson of Lakeland, FL., George (Ginger) Matson of Racine, Jim (Lorrie) Matson of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Peter (Alexis) Matson, Scott (Lisa Wittbrot) Matson of Oak Creek, Andrew (Anne) Matson, Erik Matson, Kyle Matson, Anna Matson, Tracy (Russ) Weltzien and Todd Schubring; four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Quinten, she was preceded in death by her former husband, George Matson and her brother, Earl (Barb) Hartzheim.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. A service celebrating and remembering Jan’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Small officiating. A private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Racine.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Parkview Gardens for the loving care and attention Jan received while living there. Also, Jan would want to especially thank her sons, George and Jim for their daily visits and tending to her needs.
