Ft. Atkinson – Jeanne Kathryn (nee: Nicholson) Ince, 77, died at home with her daughter at her side on May 2, 2006. She was born on September 7, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the eldest child of Clara Nicholson (nee Pier) of Racine and Charles Nicholson, originally from Kansas. At a very young age she and her family moved from Kansas to Racine. Jeanne graduated from William Horlick High School in 1946 and from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1954 with a BS in Education, double-major in English and Speech & Drama and minor in French. In 1950, Jeanne was united in marriage to Anthony James “Jim” Ince. Jeanne and Jim had four children and resided for nearly 45 years at their home “in the woods” on Southwood Drive in Mount Pleasant. During the 1950’s Jeanne was the Social Editor at WRJN radio station where she hosted the popular “Hello Neighbor” call-in show. Jeanne taught English at the Racine Vocational School and later was a substitute teacher for Racine Unified. Jeanne was active in Racine’s League of Women Voters during the 50’s and 60’s and was a Board Member during the mid-50’s. She appeared in Racine Theatre Guild productions in the 50’s. She was a member of the Racine Symphony Guild; and in the early 70’s she chaperoned a musical tour of Europe with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony. In 1985 Jeanne formed Choice Tours, Ltd. where she organized and guided several tours to Europe. Among her varied interests were her family, theater, politics, cooking, literature, bird watching, classical music, antiques, and European travel. During the past year Jeanne resided with her daughter Julia in Fort Atkinson. Jeanne is survived by her children, Peter (Jane) Ince of Madison, Philip (Mareen O’Boyle) Ince of Tulsa, OK, Catherine (John) Marrari of Eagle and Julia Ince of Fort Atkinson, her sisters Marion Schulte and Sandra Meijer of California, and brothers Ronald (Diane) Nicholson of Waukesha and Daniel (Jo Ann) Nicholson of Racine. Jeanne is also survived by her five grandchildren (Andrew, Elizabeth, Alexander, Richard, and Lorena) many nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, and her brother Charles. Her spirit will live forever in the hearts and souls of the many she loved. Testimonials

November 13, 2019

I just can’t get over how beautiful everything was for my mom’s funeral. She had a rough last four weeks but your amazing team totally did her justice! I was pretty confused during that hard time, but Brian, you made sure that all the “I”s were dotted and all the “T”s crossed. For that, I thank you. I also would like to thank the amazing team of makeup artists. My mom looked beautiful.
