Jeffrey A. Romanowski

vet
Aug 16, 1943 – Sep 29, 2010

Sturtevant—Jeffrey A. Romanowski, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his residence and went on to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Jeff was born on August 16, 1943 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, son of the late Chester and Dolores (nee: Kubek) Romanowski. He married the love of his life, Charlotte (nee: Vandervest), on February 19, 1966 at St. Frederick’s Church in Cudahy, WI. Jeff proudly served his Country with the United States Army Reserves. He was employed by Shea Matson Inc., the City of Milwaukee, and Bane Nelson Industrial Contractors – Kenosha, having been a master mechanic, estimator and vice-president. Jeff was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. Jeff was an active member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church – Sturtevant, where he served on the Parish Council, Festival Committee, and Building & Grounds for many years. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and Sprint car racing, all of which he did with his three sons, making many wonderful memories with them. He and his son, Curt, enjoyed being part of the Schmidt Racing Team pit crew. Everyone can rest assured that Jeff took his dry sense of humor with him. Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charlotte; four children, Allan (Tammylyn), Randy (Lisa), Colleen (John Gorski) and Curtis (Rebecca) Romanowski; four granddaughters, Alisha, Annika, Christina and Lily Elizabeth; sister, Linda Block; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dolores Romanowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 – 95th St. in Sturtevant, on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 10:00 am with Fr. Paul Raczynski officiating. A reception will follow. Entombment, with military honors, will be on Tuesday in the chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Hwy 32 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm and in the church on Tuesday from 9:30-10:00 am.

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so he put his arm around you and whispered “come with me”. With tearful eyes we watched as you gradually faded away, although we loved him dearly we could not bid him stay. A golden heart stopped beating hard working hands to rest. Through grace and faith g…od proved to us he only takes the best.
RIP Jeff…look over your family and keep them safe.
I just want to say I was Honored to have known Jeff and spent time with Jeff it has been many years now but I will always remember many fun snowmobile trips with him. My prayers go out to the Romanowsi family in this difficult time!

I worked on several projects with Jeff when I was at Roquette. Jeff was a great person to work with and was a great representative of his employer Bane-Nelson. Even though it has been several years since I talked with Jeff, I know that he will be missed by many.

Dear Langendorf Family,

There are no words to describe how thankful and loved we felt during our Grandpa’s funeral service. We are so lucky to know you as friends and we will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us and for Grandpa Mario throughout his lifetime and after his death. He loved you all and enjoyed sharing so many great times with you in the barbershop and as neighbors. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your caring ways and thoughtfulness and extend our appreciation to all at the funeral home who made Mario’s service so memorable.
