
~~Kenosha – Jeffrey A. Ross, 52, passed away at United Hospital-Kenosha Campus on April 3, 2014. He was born February 15, 1962 in Racine, WI, the son of Rosie L. (nee: Glass) Ross and the late Leatha Ross.
Jeffrey was educated in the Kenosha school system and he was in the last graduating class from the original, Mary D. Bradford, in 1980. He furthered his educated when he joined the U.S. Army and Gateway Technical College, where he studied aircraft mechanics. From 1982-1985 he served in the U.S. Army as an H-1 Attack Helicopter Mechanic. He received the good conduct medal, expert M16 rifle badge, aircraft crewman badge, and the army commendation medal. Jeffrey was a loyal employee of Kenosha Transit until recently, and enjoyed the comradeship he shared with the other drivers. Jeffrey was an excellent cook, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed working with his hands (home renovation, roofing, small machine and auto repair, etc.). He was truly a jack of all trades. Mostly Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother Rosie Ross of Kenosha, WI; sisters, Verna Ross of Carol Stream, IL.; Geraldine (Antone) Mason; Delorse (Earnest) Fuller; Yvonne Ross and Anna Ross, all of Kenosha, WI.; brothers, Rochester Ross of Chicago, IL.; Willie Ross of Winston-Salem, NC.; Michael (Crystal) Ross of Yakima, WA.; William Ross of Kenosha, WI; and Wilfred Ross of Odenton, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leatha Ross; his brothers, Elbert “Peter” Ross and Lee A. Ross; nephews, Antone M. Mason and Anthony Ross; niece, Loura Ross; great nephew, Andre D. Ross Jr and great niece, Sarah R. Brockman-Mason.
A Celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014, 11:00am, in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 10am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Southern Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI at a later date.
