Jeffrey J. Haas

Aug 21, 1956 – Jul 11, 2025

Service Details

Memorial will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Visitation 10:00 – 11:30 am with service to follow at 11:30 am. For those who wish, please come prepared with a brief memory or story you would like to share about Jeff.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jeffrey J. Haas (68) on July 11, 2025 after a tragic bicycle accident. After graduating from Horlick High in 1974 he attended the UW Stevens Point where he received a degree in natural resource management. He then returned back to Racine and in 1986 married Linda Lotterman and had two daughters. Jeff was a talented craftsman and machinist who dedicated more than 20 years of his life working for Case (CNHI) and was an active steward and supporter of their union and his fellow workers.

Jeff was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He was always willing to give his time, knowledge, food, and financial resources to those around him. Jeff enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He found the most joy connecting and doing projects with his loved ones.  Every year he would cultivate a prolific garden with his “grand-girls” to share his love of nature, the value of hard work and self-sufficiency.  He found great joy in giving away a lot of his yearly harvest to his coworkers and neighbors.  He also always looked forward to an annual musky fishing trip he has taken with his brothers for over 30 years.

Jeff was dedicated to supporting those around him, often putting the needs of others before his own. Though he faced many struggles over the years, he still found ways to show up. Always offering whatever support he could, however he could.

He was taken away suddenly and that left a hole in our family that we must pull together to fill. We will miss all the quirky traditions, funny gifts, interesting perspectives and advice. This tragic accident has reminded all of us to try to hold your loved ones as close as you can because you never know when you will run out of time. Our family will strive to live life to the fullest and honor the greatest parts about him. He will be kept in our hearts and memories and we will love and support each other as fiercely as he did.

He is preceded in death by parents Mary & Jerry Haas, and sibling Melissa & Dan Huck. Survived by daughters Alison Zinnen (Mathias)& Luci Haas, “grand-girls” Marlie & Rosalie, family Linda Haas, Deb Lester, Steve Haas (Michelle), Randy Haas (Allison), Sue Haas (Michael), Rick Haas (Patti) and all of his beloved extended family.

One of the few workers that cared and would go out of his way to make it right. I worked many years with Jeff doing his pet projects which was always to help the make tractors with parts that were correct. Great man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Testimonials

The Brehm and Kapellusch Families

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can’t say enough about Mark Langendorf’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
