American Cancer Society

Gilbert, AZ (formerly of Racine) – Jenny L. (nee: Petersen) Peterson, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on April 1st, 2017.

Jenny was born in Racine, WI on October 26, 1971 to Jack and Rosealee (nee: Ball) Petersen. A 1989 graduate of Waterford High School, she proudly earned her Registered Nurse degree from Gateway Technical College in 2015. She was currently employed by Banner Healthcare as an oncology nurse in Arizona.

On August 7, 2004 in Racine, Jenny was united in marriage with Raymond J. Peterson. Sadly, Ray passed away of cancer on April 12, 2016. Shortly after, Jenny moved her family to Gilbert, AZ.

Among her interests, Jenny enjoyed spending time with her boys, family and friends. Jenny had knack for decorating and made a home in Arizona that she loved to have family and friends visit as often as possible. Jenny also had a passion for Disney and traveling and on several occasions she combined the two by taking her boys to Disney theme parks as well as Disney Cruises. After moving to AZ, she discovered a joy of hiking and would hike the trails usually with one of her boys for company.

Surviving are her wonderful boys, Christian, Kaleb, Zachary, Connor and Cameron; parents, Jack and Rose Petersen; sister, Tina Petersen; nieces, Brittany (Russell) Rouse & family and Alice (Richie) Garcia & family; many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Zarling officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am. The family asks that you please wear your favorite Disney attire if you have it.

Jenny supported cancer research being a survivor herself so in lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Testimonials

January 9, 2025

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024.  Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you.  Michael, you demonstrated  professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state.  Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)

Valerie Tucker and the Family of Barbara Bell
