Jerry J. Olmstead

May 31, 1936 – Jan 30, 2018

Racine – Jerry Joel Olmstead, 81, passed away at All Saints hospital on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born in Racine on May 31, 1936, son of the late Charles and Violet (nee: Milford) Olmstead. Jerry and Josephine “Joan” Healy were married in Racine on October 25, 1954.

Jerry enjoyed a long career at Twin Disc spanning 38 years until retiring in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always in the company of his beloved dogs. Jerry had a great sense of humor and loved retelling funny stories from his past. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending the day in his garage with his family. He was a true Packer fan.

Jerry is survived by his wife Joan Olmstead; sons David (Brenda) Olmstead and John Olmstead both of Franksville; daughter Karen (Raymond) Billips of Racine; grandchildren Jacqueline (Ben Chapman) Pingel, Jacob (Stephanie) Olmstead, Carly Billips, Gregory (Katie Spranger) Billips, and Amannda Olmstead; great-grandchildren Aubrianna, Malaki, Katherine, Lillian, Madeleine, Quintin, Olivia, and Miles; sister-in-law Dolores Olmstead of Racine; other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Chet Olmstead and Robert (Eldeane) Olmstead; and sister Joyce (Cliff) Turner.

Family and friends are invited to visit in the funeral home on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.
