
Kenosha- Joe Lee Rockette, 55, formerly of Racine, passed away unexpectedly, on February 14th, 2012.
Joe was born in Oxford, Mississippi on October 20, 1956, to the late Fon and Orene (nee: Carothers) Rockette. Joe received Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Oxford, MS.
With a profound work ethic, Joe was employed as a machinist at SC Johnson Wax and, currently employed, as an environmental engineer Lead, at University of Wisconsin – Parkside at the time of his passing. Joe appreciated and adored the simple beauty of life. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his loving wife and family. He was an avid pool player and loved to travel. Joe had an infectious laugh and incredible sense of humour.
Joe is preceded in death by both parents; sister, Eula Bell Martin; brother, Jack Rockette; and brothers-in-law, Moses Price and Earl Turner. Surviving are his loving wife, Latrice Rockette; children, Tarico Rockette, Sr., Courtney Marshall, Corey Hall and Samantha Hall ; grandchildren, Tarico Rockette, Jr., Kane Lozado; Milia, Arianna, Annlyse and Laleah Marshall; Brianna, Corey Jr., and Anthony Hall; sisters, Dorothy Price, Betty (Jacob) Lott, Ruby (Eugene Perkins) Moore and Lula Mae Turner; brothers, John (Louise) Rockette and Jerry (Wanda) Rockette; in-laws: Lorehdo (Marzel) Windham and Samuel (Mary) Douglas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Margaret Rockette, Rita (Wendell) Marshall, Rory (Jackie) Marshall, Lamont (Kim) Douglas, Yolanda (Robert) Bovastro, Cassandra (Eric) Craig, Mike Bovastro and Aaron Bovastro; special friends, Bonnie Wadlington and Kirk Barker; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention .
Joe’s “Home going” Celebration will be held at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, February 20th with Bishop Rory Marshall officiating. Visitation will take place at 10am-12pm with services immediately following. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
