Racine – John D. Kirchenberg, 65, passed away at his residence on June 13, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Burlington on September 26, 1952, son of the late Edwin and Dolores (Née: Buhrke) Kirchenberg, Sr.
John was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Susan Marie Kirkorian, on November 29, 1975, at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine.
John graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1970. Prior to John’s illness, he was a warehouse supervisor for Warren Industries for 18 years. John loved cars, especially Corvettes. He was a member of the Corvette club but also was the owner of a ’65 T-Bird and an ’80 Oldsmobile 442. John was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed camping, poker, and golf. Above all, John was a family man and treasured the time he was able to spend with his entire family.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 42 years, Susan Kirchenberg; daughters, Amy Kirchenberg, Nicole (Nick) Spranger; grandchildren, Tyler Spranger, Callie Spranger, Kobe Spranger; sister, Sharon Schinkowitch; brother, Robert (Cathy) Kirchenberg; sister-in-law, Anna Kirchenberg, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Kirchenberg, Jr., William Kirchenberg; and sister, Barbara Greenquist.
