John Henry "Jack" Glembocki

May 21, 1941 – Dec 24, 2008

Racine- John H. “Jack” Glembocki, 67, passed away peacefully at Vitas Hospice Care in Milwaukee on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 3:00 am following a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Jack was born in Kenosha on May 21, 1941 to the late Henry and Irene (nee: Zeihen) Glembocki. For his education, he went to St. Casimir’s, St. Mary’s and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1959. Jack went on to graduate from University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Pharmacy. On December 28, 1968 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Jean Marie Sturycz. They resided in Kenosha until moving to Racine in 1995. Jack began his career as a pharmacist at several pharmacies in Kenosha. Shortly after, he was recruited by Abbott Laboratories, from where he retired after 29 years of service. Passionate about his career, Jack continued to work as a free-lance pharmacist at Walgreen’s and Wal-Mart throughout retirement. Jack was diagnosed with advanced renal cancer in 2002. Although given only three-months to live, he valiantly fought for his life for over six years with tremendous determination. Catholic by faith, Jack was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church. He was also a member of University of Wisconsin Alumni, Pharmacy Society and Quality Engineers Society. Jack enjoyed golfing and loved vacationing with his family. Above all, he was happiest when in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his loving wife (they would have celebrated their 40th Anniversary today), Jean; son, David (Karen) Glembocki, M.D. of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Sara Glembocki of Los Angeles, CA; twin granddaughters, Kate and Emma Glembocki; brother, Michael (Roberta) Glembocki of Franklin; sisters, Dorothy Brownlee of Kenosha; Mary (Jim) Euting of Perrysburg, OH; Claire Loizzo of Candler, N.C. and Helen Glembocki of Madison; mother-in-law, Agatha Sturycz of West Bend; sister-in-law, Rita (Jerry) Gretzinger of West Bend; brother-in-law, John (Annette) Sturycz of Beach Park, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Stanley Sturycz; and brother-in-law, Fred Loizzo. In accordance with Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11 am in St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., with Rev. Henry Maibusch, OSA officiating. There will be time to visit with Jack’s family at the church on Monday from 10-11 am. In memory of Jack, memorials can be made to St. Richard’s Parish. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Piel and his wonderful staff of Illinois; and to Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care; and to all our relatives and friends for the many prayers, overwhelming support and countless acts of kindness given over the past six years. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

December 22, 2016

Thank you so much for your staff’s gentle, patient, and thorough management of my nephew’s memorial service yesterday. It was run to perfection, and we couldn’t be more pleased. From the beautiful slide show transitions to the quality audio system to the easels, pedestals and Kringle…all details were impeccable and appreciated.
