John P. Raffini

vet
Aug 16, 1937 – Nov 2, 2010

John P Raffini, of Prairie du Sac and formerly of Poynette, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.
He was born on August 16, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Clara (Urli) Raffini.
He married Joyce Brunner on the 28th of April, 1962. Together they had three daughters: Angela Peacock of Boulder, Colorado, Michele (Robert) Kempfer of Prairie du Sac, and Corrine Raffini of Arlington. He had six grandchildren: Tiffany Fields, Cindy (Andrew) Wuttke and Beth Peacock; Jonathan Sabatke; Alexis and Abigail Crotty. He is survived by one brother, James (Carol); and three sisters, Yvonne Raffini, Jeanine (Rick) Fassl and Renee (Mark) Whipple. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his mother and father, John and Clara; his sister, Mary; and his brother, David and sister-in-law, Janet.
John served in the US Army for two years in Fort Riley, Kansas and Alaska and was honorably discharged.
John worked for AT&T, formerly Wisconsin Bell, until his retirement after 34 years in December of 1991. He was die-hard Green Bay Packer fan, an avid sportsman, loving father and friend to all who met him.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:00 am for the celebration of John’s life.  His burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia with military honors. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society and Home Health Hospice.

Thanks go out to many but we would like to thank John’s caregiver and friend, Pam; as well as Home Health Hospice (especially Ruby, Emily, Natalie and Sally) and his lunch-time helper, Amy Reinhold. A special thank you goes to his health care providers, Dr. Abigail Christensen and Dr. Louis Sanner.
Dad, you will be missed greatly! “Go Packers!”
