John Richard Hutchinson

Nov 7, 1960 – Aug 5, 2016

RACINE – John R. Hutchinson, 55, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on August 5, 2016 after fighting a brave, never ending battle with glioblastoma brain cancer, like the champion he was, he left us too soon.

He was born in Racine on November 7, 1960, the son of Neil and Kathleen (nee: Mann) Hutchinson.

John was best known for just being a genuine person; he was kind, thoughtful and generous.  He was a baker for Larsen’s Bakery, family owned business run by his uncle Sonny, as well as other Racine bakeries.  All John ever wanted to do with his life was work as hard as possible and help anyone he could.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, which whom he was completely devoted to, Madeline and Hannah Hutchinson; his parents, Neil and Kathleen Hutchinson; his sister, Mary Day; Casey Hutchinson, Michael Hutchinson; his cousin, Donald Hutchinson; his uncles and aunts, Paul and Mary Ellen Kaster, John and Linda Mini; his precious dog, Koda; as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his sister, Sandra Hutchinson; his niece, Megan Hutchinson and his cousin, Danny Hutchinson.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening for a visitation from 5-7 p.m.   The celebration of his life and funeral Mass will be held at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church (1509 Grand Ave) on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating.  There will also be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.  Interment at Graceland Cemetery Garden Crypts will follow the Mass.

Special thanks to the staff at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.  Your kindness and generosity made the past three years much easier for all of us.  Also, thank you to the gang at Wells Brothers.  You were so good to him and he considered you his second family.  Thank you, Aunt Linda, who took care of this journey with him step by step for almost three years and kept everything together for all of us.  And finally to his daughters and their mother, Laura Casteneda, for the loving care and support which helped him through all he endured.  We will love and miss you forever, John.

My sincere condolences to the Hutchinson family. May you find comfort in the words written at Acts 24:15, where God promises to bring back to life those we have lost in death by means of a resurrection. In the future He will also do completely away with death.(Revelation 21:4) This gives us the wonderful hope of being reunited with our loved ones forever. Until then, I hope the memories of John and these promises from God comfort you in the days ahead.

Testimonials

The Munoz Family

My siblings and I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to plan a funeral for our beloved mother – Juana Munoz. During this difficult time, we were fortunate enough to come across a funeral home that truly went above and beyond what was expected. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the entire process was truly remarkable. From the moment we stepped foot into the funeral home, we were greeted with warmth and compassion. The staff members, but specifically Mark was incredibly understanding and empathetic, making us feel at ease during such a challenging time. Mark took the time to listen to our needs and wishes, and his guidance and support were invaluable. One aspect that truly stood out was Mark’s meticulous attention to detail. He paid close attention to every aspect of the funeral arrangements, ensuring that nothing was overlooked. From the floral arrangements to the music selection, every detail was carefully considered and executed flawlessly. Mark even noticed that the temperature in the room was getting warm and promptly adjusted it to ensure our comfort. What impressed me the most was their commitment to our safety. Mark and his team took every precaution to ensure that our family and guests were protected throughout the entire process. From the funeral home to the cemetery, Mark made sure that all safety measures were in place, including providing hand sanitizers, and even arranging for additional staff members to assist with crowd control. Furthermore, Mark’s professionalism and organization was evident in every aspect of the funeral service. He coordinated seamlessly with the cemetery staff, ensuring a smooth transition from the funeral home to the final resting place. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly made a difference in our overall experience. In addition to their exceptional service, the funeral home also provided us with resources and support beyond the funeral itself. They offered grief counseling services and connected us with local support groups, which proved to be invaluable during our grieving process. Overall, we cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Mark, and broader, Draeger Langendorf team. Their attention to detail, commitment to our safety, and genuine compassion made a difficult time a little more bearable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of funeral arrangements, as they truly go above and beyond to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that families are supported throughout . the entire process. – Epifanio and The Munoz Family
