Racine – Johnnie Irene Perry, 98, was call home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born in Macon, Mississippi on January 3, 1920, daughter of the late John and Mamie (nee: May) Cotton.

Johnnie was a Racine resident for most of her life and retired from JI Case in 1982. She was a decades long active and faithful member of Wayman AME Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Robert (Mae) Perry and Bruce Perry; three daughters Bessie (Ronald) Claybrook, Gaynell Harlan, and Linda Perry all of Racine; one brother Ellis (Dorothy) Cotton; 17 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Perry; two sons Leonard Cotton and William Perry Jr; son-in-law Leon Harlan; six sisters Lola Glover, Mamie Walker, Sarah Perry, Mary Bolton, Betty Paulette, and Edna Harmon; three brothers Charlie Cotton, Grover Cotton, and Rufus Cotton.

Homegoing Services will be held in the Wayman AME Church (424 Memorial Drive) on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Public visitation from 9am-10am followed by her funeral service at 10am with Rev. Charlene Mills, eulogist, and Rev. Ernest Ni’A officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Special thanks to her beautiful granddaughter, and her hospice nurses Liz, Eva, and Kimberly Horton for the loving care provided to Johnnie.
