Joseph C. Chernouski Jr.

Aug 4, 1935 – Mar 5, 2006

Mr. Chernouski, 70, died in St. Mary’s Medical Center on Sunday, March 5, 2006. He was born in Racine on August 4, 1935, the son of Joseph and Evelyn (nee: Garrett) Chernouski Sr.. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School and attended, St. Catherine’s High School. Mr. Chernouski served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On August 2, 1955, in Twenty Nine Palms, CA, he was united in marriage to the former Cynthia D. Lehner, who preceded him in death on June 20, 1997. He had been employed by Rexnord and later St. Mary’s Medical Center. Surviving are his children, Kim (Shane) Anderson, of Duluth, MN, Diane Chernouski, Pam (Ben Lowrey) Chernouski, Joe Chernouski, Daniel (Kim) Chernouski, Steve (Amy) Chernouski, Gary (Tania) Chernouski, Paul Chernouski, daughter-in-law Carrie (Tony) Castillo, all of Racine; his loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren; his mother Evelyn Chernouski of Minocqua, WI; his sister Kathleen Chernouski of Winchester, WI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence (Marilyn) Lehner of Franksville, John (Charlene) Lehner of Elkhorn, Agnes (Robert) Carmody of Saukville, Catherine (Donald) Price of Lebanon, TN, Helen (Duane) Kienest, of Burnett, Frances (Hillard) Litton, And Raymond (Patricia) Lehner all of Racine. In addition to wife Cynthia, he was also preceded in death by his father Joseph Chernouski Sr., his son William Chernouski and his father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Lillian Lehner, and by one brother. His Funeral Service will be held in St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 15th and Grand Ave., on Saturday, March 11th, at 11:00 a.m., with Timothy Sadowski officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Hy 32. Memorials, in memory of Mr. Chernouski can be made to your favorite charity. The family would like to publicly thank Tim Sadowski for the countless hours he spent with the family at the hospital.
