Joy A. Krause, 84, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on Wednesday, November 22, 2006. She was born in Gay, MI, on April 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Samuel and Hilda (nee: Erkkila) Aho. On July 17, 1940, in Gay, MI, she was united in marriage to Earl V. They lived in Beacon Hill and Painsdale, MI and then moved to St. Francis, WI, where they lived for most of their lives. In 2004 they moved to Racine to be closer to their family. Mrs. Krause had been employed in the office of the Ladish Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cudahy. After moving to Racine, she joined Atonement Lutheran Church and her husband Earl joined St. Edward’s. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 299 Ladies Auxillary in Hales Corner. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Janet and Russell Asala of Racine; grandchildren, Lisa Servi of Sturtevant, Angie (Scott) Olsen, Dana (Dan) Thielen all of Racine, Kristin (Basil) Vasilarakos in Arizona, Douglas (Kathy) Asala in North Carolina, Jason (Amy) Asala of Oak Creek, and Tracey Asala of South Milwaukee; great-grandchildren, Nate, Evan, Greg, Courtney, Caitlin, Lucas, Sammy, Regan, Miranda, Breanna, Sydnee, Luisa, Tyler, Cameron and Max; her brother, Reuben (Anita) Aho of New Hope, MN; sisters-in-law, Ethel (Ted) Ayoub in MI, and Shirley Buzza, in CA; dear friends Onni And Evelyn Maki (they stood up in each others weddings). Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends further survive her. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, her step-brother Leo Hendrickson and brothers-in-law Jack Krause and Edward Buzza preceded her in death. Her funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27th, in Atonement Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Ave., with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the Service. Private burial will take place on Tuesday in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to either the Atonement Boiler or Kitchen Funds. The family would like to publicly thank Dr. Short, Karen, and their staff, as well as Hospice Alliance-Kenosha and especially Mohammed for the compassion and care given to Joy and her family.

Testimonials

the Victor Morris Family

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
