
JULIUS A. MICHALAK Racine – Mr. Michalak, 85, died peacefully and surrounded by his caring family on Tuesday, March 21, 2006. He was born in Racine, on May 24, 1920, the son of the late Joseph and Priscilla (nee: Bubacz) Michalak. He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Mohr-Jones and later retired from Jacobsen Textron. Mr. Michalak was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church. After it’s closing he joined St. Lucy Catholic Church. He was a talented photographer and enjoyed golfing, baseball and tennis. He loved all of his nieces and nephews as if they were his children. Surviving are his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Julius Kowalski and Odelle Michalak both of Racine; his nieces and nephews, Priscilla (Dick) Bennett of Lawrenceville, GA, Jeff Kowalski and Mark Kowalski both of Racine, Joseph (Cathy) Kowalski of Pickerington, OH, Edward Kowalski of Pittsburgh, PA, Camille (Peter) White of Gahana, OH, Connie and Karen Kowalski of Racine, Dan (Mary) Michalak of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Pamela Wallace of Kenosha. Also surviving are his great nieces and nephews, and his great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Edward, killed in WWII, Raymond Michalak, and by his sister, Dolores Kowalski. In keeping with his wishes, there was a private funeral service held on Friday, March 24, 2006 with Rev. Mark J. Jones officiating. Burial followed in the family section of Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy 32.
