Julius “J.C.” Cecil Thompson was born on April 7, 1934 to his mother Eloise Lowe in New Albany, Mississippi. Eloise met and married a wonderful man, Jessie Dykes, who raised J.C as his own. J.C. received his formal education at Union County Training School in New Albany, MS.

J.C. moved from New Albany to Racine, Wisconsin and married the late Mary (nee: Kirkwood) Thompson. The pair set out for Detroit, Michigan and then eventually back to Racine, WI. This union three sons were born, Dwight, Dwayne and Dennis.

J.C. held many positions as molder for various companies, finally retiring from Alloy Steel in 1994. J.C. was later united to Josephine (nee: Mooney) Thompson in 1977 until her passing in 1985. J.C. loved the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.

Julius “J.C.” Cecil Thompson, age 82, was called home by his loving Savior on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Waters Edge in Kenosha, Wisconsin. J.C. leaves to cherish is memories, his son, Dennis Thompson and grandson, Trevin Armani Thompson; brothers, Larry and Jessie Dykes of New Albany, MS, cousin, Virginia Lowe of Detroit, Michigan; Special friend, Dorothy Bell of Racine; longtime friends, Cleo James of Zion, Illinois and Ed Cole of New Albany, MI and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins nephews and friends. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eloise Dykes; wife, Josephine Thompson; sons, Dwight Thompson and Dwayne Thompson as well as other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Aurora Medical of Kenosha, WI; West Allis Select in West Allis, WI and Asera Care Hospice and Waters Edge in Kenosha, WI.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Racine, WI. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00am until the time of service.
