Kenosha – Katy Hope Stanton, age 39, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Katy was born in Waukegan, IL on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1985. This miracle baby girl was born three-months early at 2 lbs. 14 oz. as the result of a tragic car accident the family experienced the day before. Katy overcame many obstacles & hurdles in life and was so excited that she was succeeding in her own way. Our family is absolutely devastated.
Katy was a 2004 graduate of Warren Township High School in Gurnee, IL. She enjoyed her job at Southern Lake Credit Union until taking a position at Snap-On Tools a couple years ago, most recently in accounts receivable.
Among her interests, Katy had a great appreciation for various types of music – with “Imagine” by John Lennon being her favorite… and had several tattoos that she was proud of. Katy had a beautiful soul that radiated warmth, kindness and authenticity that touched everyone around her. She cared deeply for her family and friends and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. She enjoyed seeking the wonders in life and celebrating every moment.
Surviving are her mom, Cheryl “Sherrie” Hagen; dad, Matthew Stanton; sisters, Erica (Tyler) Floyd, Amie (Scott) Day and Michelle (Dave) Costedio; brother, Joseph Stanton; and dear nieces & nephews that Katy thought of as her own, Nevin, Nolan, Niall & Audrey Floyd; Lexi & Zack Day; Aubree & Mia Costedio. Katy was also loved by many special aunts, uncles, cousins & friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
Katy was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, Bob & Doris Hagen and Leonard & Marion “Matka” Stanton.
