MOUNT PLEASANT – Keith D. Webster, 59, passed away unexpectedly at Ascension All Saints on Friday, October 27, 2017.

He was born May 2, 1958 in Viroqua, WI to Dale A. and Edith M. (Weinke) Webster. He was the oldest child, followed by Katherine, Kim and Kevin. Keith grew up in various cities in Wisconsin.  Keith was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Cashton High School in 1976.

Keith was very active in Boy Scouts his whole life. He earned his Eagle on April 14,1976. He was a vigil honor member of the Order of the Arrow, his last lodge being “Kanwa-Tho” 636. In 2016, Keith earned the District award of Merit for his contributions to Scouting.  He served scouting as a district commissioner, Merit Badge counselor, Advancement Chairman of Troop 242 and was the current Scoutmaster of Troop 242. On September 21, 1986,

Keith married the love of his life Catherine (Helding) Maynard. He adopted her daughter Carisa and loved her as his own. Together they had four more children, Kyle, Cassandra, Caitlin and Kurtis.

Keith came to Racine in 1976 to attend Gateway Technical College and get an degree in Aviation Mid-management. While attending college he became a part time paid on call firefighter with the Town of Mount Pleasant. In 1980, he became a full time EMT/ Firefighter for the town/Village of Mt Pleasant, retiring after 31 years as a lieutenant in 2009. During his time on the fire department Keith raised money for MDA by being a Santa, was a juvenile firesetter counselor, fire investigator and he was one of the founders of the Racine County Arson Task Force.

After his retirement from the Fire Department Keith was an installer for Philips Lifeline. He did this for 5 years until a fall resulting in a traumatic fracture of his ankle made the long drives too hard.  He was last employed at A.I.M. Now Day care Center as the van coordinator, working there  until he passed away from complications from a sudden illness on Friday, October 27, 2017.

Keith is survived by his wife Catherine, his children Carisa (Lucien) Nemath, Kyle (Melanie Brabbit) Webster, Cassandra (Mitchell Steffens) Webster, Caitlin Webster, Kurtis Webster and “daughter” Kayla Mosher. His grand children Vincent Nemath, Lily Nemath, Caleb Webster and Baby Steffens (who is due to arrive in May). Keith is also survived by his mother, Edith Webster, sisters Katherine Wood and Kim (Tim) Flock, brother Kevin (Margaret) Webster and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, co-workers, Scouts and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Webster, his father and Mother in Law, Curtis and Barbara Helding and granddaughter Grace Nemath.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, November 5, 2017 for a visitation from 1-3 p.m.   A service remembering and honoring Keith’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Heather Bumstead officiating.  A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

I was lucky to know him and to pay him the highest honor I can, as a soldier we would say that any person we were willing to share a foxhole with is someone you could trust with your life.

Keith was that kind of guy and I was blessed to know him

Testimonials

December 22, 2016

Thank you so much for your staff’s gentle, patient, and thorough management of my nephew’s memorial service yesterday. It was run to perfection, and we couldn’t be more pleased. From the beautiful slide show transitions to the quality audio system to the easels, pedestals and Kringle…all details were impeccable and appreciated.
