L.C. Billups

Feb 9, 1953 – Apr 28, 2015

     L.C. Billups, 62, was called Home by his Loving Savior on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born in Racine on February 9, 1953 the son of the late Robert and Adell (nee: Freeman) Billups Sr.
    Mr. Billups was a lifetime resident of Racine. He had been employed by Styberg Engineering and later by Chrysler Corp. until retiring due to illness. He was a longtime member of Greater Mount Eagle Baptist Church where he sang in the male chorus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and talking on his C.B. radio. His two greatest loves were his family and his church.
     Surviving are his children, Vadell Billups, of Nashville, TN, and Lemina Billups, of Racine; the granddaughter that he adored, Maykia Morgan; brother, Robert (Patricia) Billups Jr.; sister, Maydell (Greg) Williams, all of Racine; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Turner, George Tittle, Sheri Billups, and Darline Billups, all of Racine. His nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. In addition to his parents, L.C. was preceded in death by his son Brandon Billups, sisters, Margaret Turner, and Peggy Tittle; brothers, Eddie Billups, Billy Billups, and David Billups.
     His Homegoing Going Service will be held in the Greater Mount Eagle Baptist Church, 929 State St., on Saturday, May 9th, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Keith Evans officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday, May 9th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
