
Mrs. Lee A. Alvis, 85, was called Home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. She was born in Charleston, MS on November 9, 1925 the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine (nee: Robinson) Rhodes.
Mrs. Alvis was employed by Ridgewood Care Center as a nursing assistant and later as a dietician. She was a former member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, a past matron of the Eastern Star Badger Chapter #5, a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 546. She enjoyed working with Toys for Tots and had a passion for cooking. She did a lot of cooking at St. Paul’s.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law George and Veronica Tenner, of Racine; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Tenner, of Milwaukee, Maleia (Theodore) Moore, of Kissimmee, FL, Michelle Scott, of Jacksonville, FL, Victor Tenner, and Cory Tenner, both of Racine; 10 great grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Wanda Cobb, of Clinton Township, MI, Trent (Sharon) Alvis, of Racine, and Doris Smith, of Sturtevant; and 2 step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alvis was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Alvis, and her brothers Daniel and Eugene Rhodes.
Her Homegoing is scheduled for Monday, December 6th, with a service at 11:00 a.m. by the Eastern Star Badger Chapter #5, followed by the Homegoing Service with Rev. Joe Thomas officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
