
Racine – Lizzie D. (nee: Harrington) Barry, 48, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. She was born in Fayette, MS on November 29, 1967, the daughter of Virginia Herrington and Wilson Anderson.
Lizzie graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin. She later opened The Liberty House I and II, Adult Family Homes in Racine, WI. Lizzie was a member at New Omega Baptist Church for many years. On May 26, 1990 she was united in marriage to Hazale Barry and their union was blessed with three children, Asia, Andre and Ashley. Lizzie was a strong, caring, dependable, honest, confident, giving and passionate person to everyone she would meet. She loved singing, watching basketball (especially when her kids played), she never missed a game and always cheered the loudest for them. Family was very important to Lizzie and left to cherish her memories are her devoted husband, Hazale Barry; beautiful children, Asia, Andre and Ashley Barry; her mother, Virginia (Sam) Herrington-Cozart; sisters, Tasha (Aubrey) Herrington-Dodd, Shemeka Cozart, Rochelle Smith of Fayette, MS and Monika Cronin; brothers, Romell Smith and Shelby Morris; aunts, Evelyn Driver and Delois (Craig) Bates; uncle, Lloyd Herrington, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lizzie was preceded in death by her father, Wilson Anderson; paternal grandparents, Lizzie and James Herrington and her uncle, James Herrington Jr. A celebration of Lizzie’s life will be held at New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Ave., Racine, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00am. Family hour will be from 10:00am until the time of service. Rev. Fred L. Richmond will be officiating.
