Visitation: Tuesday in the church from 10-11 am

Lorraine “Lori” Lasken, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Lori was born in Chicago on September 19, 1925 to the late Leo and Helen (nee: Daszkowski) Kantorski.

Lori lived in Chicago her entire life until moving to Waterford, WI in 2010 to be closer to her son. She was united in marriage with Henry Lasken, on July 17, 1948 who preceded her in death in July 1994. Lori was a long-time member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Chicago, and prayed to the Lord Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary on a daily basis. She was a strong supporter of the VFW, which her husband was a member for his entire adult life and also supported many other local charities. She loved to travel with her husband and visited many places around the world. Lori was a strong woman with a good mind, and had a particular talent for all dances. She loved to cut loose on the floor with her husband Hank, and passed on the dancing legend to all her grandkids with lessons in the basement. Her kindness and unconditional love for her family will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her sons, James (Mary) Lasken of Union Grove, Wisc. and Thomas Lasken of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Scott (Holly) Lasken, Nadine (Rob) Williams, Keith (Brittany) Lasken, Ashley (Jordan) Lasken-Beyer, Debbie (Dave) Boczkowski and Tracy Mallon; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kelli, Dali, JaLynn, Leilani, Jacob, Ryan, Connor, Will, Jake and Ella; sisters, Delores (John) Zon and Lee (the late Hal) Chaires; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Memorial Mass on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:00 am in St. Monica’s Parish (5136 N. Nottingham Ave. in Chicago, IL 60656). Visitation at church on Tuesday starting at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Inurnment at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Niles, IL to follow Memorial Mass.

The family would like to thank Waterford Senior Living for their loving and compassionate care over the last seven+ years of Lori’s residence there.

Mom was a very special person in all of our lives. She loved us as much as we loved her. Rest in peace mom, you are finally with dad.

I love her with all my heart and I wish she was still here, but as everyone tells me, “she’s in a better place now. God will take care of her as he will do the rest of us when it is our time.” I wish that I could have said a real goodbye. I miss her very much and love her. She will, yet still, be in my heart forever and ever

Testimonials

Comfort, blessed and confident

I can’t say enough good things about Michael and his staff. They go above and beyond what is required of a funeral home. He has always met my desires and goes beyond what I ask. He always makes it a little more special. He has blessed me and my family many times and comforted us when we are aching because of our loss. I am always confident that he will do his very best, and he always has.
Thank you Michael and staff. May you all have a Blessed Christmas season and New Year
