Louie H. Ball

Louie H. Ball, 66, was called Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 26, 2008. He was born in Ecru, MS on November 7, 1941 to the late Rome and Mary Ann (nee: Roberson) Ball. On August 1, 1973, in Waukegan, IL, he was united in marriage to the former Annie B. Batts. Mr. Ball had been employed by the Racine Unified School District for over 28 years until he retired. He was a member of Greater Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church and The Service Employees International Union Local 152. He enjoyed fishing and basketball, but his greatest loves were; his God, his family, and his church. Surviving are his beloved wife Annie; children, Jerry (Angela) Batts of Milwaukee, Gary Batts, Sandra Carson, Shannon (Jackie Jackson) Ball, Eric (Coeneka) Ball, and Reona Ball, all of Racine; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Juanita Griffin of Tupelo, MS, Modenia (Thomas Earl) Graves, Mary (William) Griffin all of Zion, IL, Cerecia (Johnny) Buchanan of Daleville, AL, Rome (Nellie) Ball of Grayslake, IL, Hubert (Dorothy) Ball of Ecru, MS, Howard (Ruth) Ball of San Antonio, TX, John (Sandy) Ball of Richmond, VA, sister-in-law Helen Ball of Oxford, MS. His nieces, nephews, an uncle, two aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive him. His parents, Rome and Mary Ann Ball, son-in-law Ricky C. Carson, brother Willie Ball and brother-in-law Nathaniel Griffin preceded him in death. His Homegoing Service is scheduled for Friday, February 1st, at 2:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church, 929 State Street, with Rev. Keith Evans and Rev. David Green officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 12 Noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Cherry Creek Cemetery Ecru MS.
