Lucie Marie Minardi

Apr 8, 1926 – Jun 30, 2006

Sturtevant- Lucie Marie (nee: Carpino) Minardi, 80, found eternal peace, surrounded with the love of her entire family, on Friday, June 30, 2006 at All Saints-St. Mary’s Medical Center. Lucie and her family were comforted that they were all together at the end and had the chance to say good-bye in their own way and in their own time. Lucie was born in Racine on April 8, 1926 to the late Louis and Clara (nee: Galizea) Carpino. On July 28, 1951 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Joseph Minardi. Lucie was a longtime and supportive member of St. Patrick, St. Sebastian, and St. Lucy Catholic Churches. She enjoyed working the election polls in Sturtevant and her former involvement with the Girl Scouts. Among her interests, she liked crafting, ceramics, playing cards, avid baseball fan, and was an outstanding cook. Above all, she absolutely loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her loving husband, Joe; daughters, Clara (Donald) Pappenfuss of Racine; LuAnn Minardi of Indianapolis, IN; and JoEllyn (Patrick) McLeod of Racine; grandsons, Kyle and Keith McLeod; and Gregory Pappenfuss; sister-in-law, Dorothea Carpino of Sturtevant; extended family member and devoted caregiver, Tom Blasiak; many other loving relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name including her special niece, MaryAnn Carpino. In addition to her parents, Lucie was preceded in death by her brothers, Guy (Connie) Carpino, Joe (Cathy) Carpino and Harry Carpino. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., this Saturday evening from 5-8 pm and in the church on Sunday from 3 until the time of the Mass at 4 pm. Private entombment will take place on Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. In memory of Lucie, memorials to St. Catherine’s High School, Cops-N-Kids Reading Center or to The Jane Cremer Foundation have been suggested. Many special thanks to all of our family and friends, including the staff of Ridgewood and All Saints, for the many acts of kindness and support that were so warmly extended to Lucie and to our family. God bless all of you!

Testimonials

Helene Hellesen

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.
