Mount Pleasant – Lucille V. Kratochvil, 98, died at the Village of Lincoln Park, Racine on February 27, 2018.  She was born in Racine on February 20, 1920, daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (née: Reinert) Hagendorff.

She had observed her 98th birthday on February 20th.  In an unusual set of circumstances, her son and guardian, Jan F. Kratochvil, preceded her by four days after a very short illness.

Lucille was a longtime employee of Western Printing and Publishing Company in Racine, and a source of many Golden Books for her well-loved nephews and nieces. Her late husband, William J. Kratochvil, and she were avid bowlers in their younger years, as well as lifelong animal lovers.

Lucille has no immediate survivors. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, Lucille is preceded in death by her siblings: Bernice, Dora, Marie, Arline, and Leonard.

A memorial celebration of Lucille’s and Jan’s lives will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, 12:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will take place from 10:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Wisconsin Humane Society-Racine Campus, Racine, 2708 Chicory Road WI 53403.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

Our family wants to thank Mike and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf for their compassion and caring in the death of our mother. They attended to every detail with such professionalism and made this difficult time so much easier by unburdening us of all that needs to be done with the arrangements. We all felt that there was nothing more they could have been done. It was perfect. We can now go forward with the memories that we hold in our hearts of mom and know that we provided the best possible service by choosing Draeger-Langendorf.
