Margaret C. Barry

Sep 7, 1907 – Jun 29, 2008

Margaret C. Barry, 100, passed away at Ridgewood Health Care Center on Sunday, June 29, 2008. She was born in London, England on September 7, 1907 the daughter of the late Jon and Katherine (nee; Norman) Noonan Margaret received her education in the schools of Chicago; and moved to Racine in 1926. She had been employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Co., S. C. Johnson, Massey Harris, and later by Sears and Roebuck. On February 25, 1933, in St. Edward Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to LaRoy Barry who preceded her in death on June 24, 1980. Margaret was a longtime member of St. Richard Church, the A.A.R.P. and the Catholic Golden Agers. Surviving are her 4 nieces, Mary Ellen Noonan, Patricia (Ray) Tyler, Kathleen (Bill) Bertron, all in California, Maureen (Garry) Johnson of Racine; nephew-in-law Jess Overby; sister-in-law, Isabelle Barry in Menomonee Falls; as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellen (Harold) Piper, Kathleen (Eugene) Hoppe; her brother, John Noonan and her nieces, Joan Overby and Carol Sus. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
