Racine – Margaret C. (nee: Meister) Lampe, age 96, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Margaret was born in Maple River, Iowa on April 10, 1921 to the late George and Clara (nee: Stangl) Meister. On August 30, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, she was united in marriage with Albert J. Lampe. For the next 12 years, they farmed in Arcadia, Iowa. In 1957, they moved to the Mosinee, WI area where they were engaged in farming until their retirement. After retirement, they moved into the city of Mosinee. Margaret and Albert were active members of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, WI and St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee, prior to moving to Racine in 2015. Among her interests, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, reading, playing cards and solving puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with her entire family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 73 years, Albert; daughter, Judy (Jerry Ruud) Wise; son, Gary (Carleen) Lampe; grandchildren, Jeremy Stroyny, Christopher Lampe, Mary Ellen (Al) Cole and Scott (Cindy) Wise; great-grandchildren, Brandon Cole and Samantha Adams; brother-in-law, Marvin Lampe; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Dentlinger and Norma Meister; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles Wise; and brothers, Hilbert (Dorothy) Meister, Melvin (Valeria) Meister, Orville Meister, Kenneth (Kathy) Meister and Lloyd Meister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Memorials to your favorite charity have been suggested.

A special note of thanks to the wonderful staff at Ridgewood Care Center and to Hospice Alliance for the compassionate care and support given in Margaret’s time of need. May God bless all of you!
