Mark Cornell Evans

vet
Dec 8, 1961 – Sep 28, 2009

Racine – Mark Cornell Evans, 47, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 28, 2009. Mark was a lifetime Racine resident. He was born on December 8, 1961, son the late Benwood Evans and Dorothy (nee: Moore) Evans. After graduating for Park High School, Mark entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he served four years. Mark was always a sports fan, and enjoyed following his favorite team. Being a fan of the Raiders, and 49er’s wasn’t always easy in Packer Country! He enjoyed making others laugh, and was always kind and thoughtful of others. Mark’s work ethic was second to none. At the time of his early passing, was employed as a Security Officer at SC Johnson Wax. Mark is survived by his brother, Vada (Dawn) Evans; and sisters, Joyce Evans, Kimberly Evans of Racine, Alice Gibson Evans of Seattle, Washington; and Christine Matson Evans of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Evans. Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 12 noon on Monday, October 5, 2009 with Rev. Charlene Mills officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Internment will take place 1:15p.m. at Graceland cemetery with military honors.
