Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

Mount Pleasant – Martin Ward Lee, 83, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, March 31, 2017. He was born in Racine on July 23, 1933, son of the late Ward and Dorothy (née: Rasmussen) Lee.

Martin was united in marriage to Mary Annette Junk, on May 10, 1958, in Guttenberg, IA.

Martin graduated from William Horlick High School in 1951, where he was a medal winner in track and field. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1952-1955. Martin worked as an Estimator for Service International Business Forms and spent his later working years with Data Forms in New Berlin. Martin was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sturtevant. He was passionate about flying and earned a pilot’s license, he enjoyed photography, astronomy, and travel, and he had a love for classical music and our national parks. Martin was an all-around handyman and could fix just about anything in need of repair. Above all, he loved his family tremendously and treasured the time spent with them.

Martin leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 58 years, Mary Lee; sons, James (Christine) Lee, Thomas Lee, John (Patricia) Lee, Michael (Jenny) Lee, Patrick (Ryanne) Lee; grandchildren, Olivia Lee, Amanda Lee, Samantha Lee, Molly Markshtien, Aaron Lee, Benjamin Lee, Matthew Lee; sister-in-law, Jackie (Robert) Hom; brother-in-law, Bertram Junk; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Lee; sister, Laurie Lee; in-laws, Frank and Florence (née: Frommelt) Junk; sister-in-law, Catherine Junk; brothers-in-law, John (Mary Ellen) Junk, Jerome Junk, Wilbert Junk, and Gerald Junk.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 4:00pm until 6:00pm, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 95th Street, Sturtevant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Thursday, April 6, 2017, 11:00am, with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Visitation on Thursday will be from 10:00am until the time of the Mass. Private burial will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to the staff at St. Monica’s and Allay Home & Hospice for the love and care given to Martin during this difficult time.

Michael, so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Even though I know he has been sick for a long time it is still very sad to lose a beloved parent. I know you, Jenny, and your brothers will be there foryour mom to support her during this difficult time. Paul and I send all our love. Donna
