Racine – Marvin Arthur Osenga, 85, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born in the family farm house in Dover, WI, on May 18, 1932, son of the late Andrew and Caroline (née: Bauer) Osenga.

Marvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Charlotte Marie Huff, on September 10, 1960 at St. Martini’s Lutheran Church. Charlotte preceded him in death on April 12, 2009.

Marvin worked very hard on his family farm as a young man. He graduated from Union Grove High School in 1949. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee. Marvin proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army during Korea.   He was an accountant and chief operating officer for Burgess, Anderson, and Tate (BAT) Office Products until his retirement.

Marvin loved to play golf and played several times a week with his favorite groups of golfing buddies. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved his family tremendously and cherished every moment spent with them. Marvin will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Denise (Jeff) Byers, Debbie (Mark McKinney) Heaps; grandchildren, Heidi (Jason) Lewerenz, Adam Heaps; sister, Marion Osenga; sister-in-law, Diann (Charles) Hostettler; nephew, Brian Hostettler; niece, Lori (Sebastian) Stanciu; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marvin is preceded in death by his in-laws, Albert and Annabelle Huff; and brother-in-law, Einar Carlson.

A memorial celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, 6:30pm, at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until the time of the memorial service. Full military honors will follow the service. The family has suggested memorials to the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church Senior Choir.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Franklin for the love and care given to Marvin during this difficult time.

I have so many childhood memories at the Osenga house, many of them involve the backyard pool and the bar in the basement. I can picture our parents laughing and having a great time. Rest in peace Marvin. I hope you are all reunited in heaven

Death is the great enemy. It causes grief, sorrow and much heart ache. But because of God’s great love for mankind this great enemy will be bought to an end. Revelation 21:3,4 states that death will be no more. How can that be? Please read in your Bible John 5:28. Yes those that have died can come back to life in the promised resurrection. What joy this promise brings. Remember God raised his only begotten son from the grave to ever lasting life.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.

Helene Hellesen
