Mary Etta Andrews

Jun 11, 1933 – Oct 8, 2006

RACINE – Mary Etta Andrews, 73, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 8, 2006. She was born in Minter, Ala. on June 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Willie and Millie (nee: Calhoun) Bolton. Mary Etta had been employed by the Westview Nursing Home for over 16 years. She was a longtime member of the Israel of God Church WHA. She had three great loves in her life, her God, her family, and her church. She leaves to cherish her love, her children, Lee Edward (Sandi) Andrews of Lady Lake, Fla., James Andrews of Selma, Ala., Jesse (Marjorie) Andrews of Pleasant Prairie, Patricia (Owen) Tabois of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Johnny Lee Herring of Milwaukee, Connell Herring of Racine, and Jerome Herring currently in Iraq; grandchildren, Dwayne, Elizabeth, Lisa, Tracey, Tahneesha (DeMario), James Jr., Benjamin, Jesse Jr., Autumn, Natalie, and Brandon; her great-grandchildren; her sisters, Berniece Herring in Alabama, Dolores (Ray) Jones of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Lucille (Frank) Rowser of Detroit, Mich.; her step-mother, Agnes Watson in North Carolina; aunts, Rosetta Lewis of Mobile, Ala., Gertrude Bennett of Atlanta, Ga., and Catherine Bolton of Racine; a very special Goddaughter, Arzula Snow; and by her very close and very dear friend, Ms. Willie Knuckles, both of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family, and her friends further survive her. Her Homegoing service will be held in the Israel of God Church WHA, 2017 Mead Street, on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor George B. Hamilton and Bishop Ronald C. Henton officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. and in the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Israel of God Church WHA would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Berce, and the entire staff of Wheaton Franciscan-St. Mary’s Medical Center for their care and devotion.
