Mary Katherine Herman

Mar 8, 1948 – Oct 17, 2013

Racine – Mary Katherine Herman, 65, received the promise of eternal life on Thursday, October 17, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Racine on March 8, 1948, daughter of the late Howard and Anna (nee: Kowalsky) Herman, Sr.

Mary graduated from Park High School in 1967.  She was a chef and loved to cook all kinds of food for her family with her own spin on different recipes.  Mary also nurtured her creative side and spent reflective time reading and writing poetry.  Above all, Mary treasured her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Theresa (Orlando Deleon) Foster of Racine; Jamie (Sise) Foster of Temple, GA; grandchildren, Alicia Baker, Anthony Baker, Skyler Deleon, all of Racine; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Lane, Brianna Lane; sister, Kathy (Jim) Hilber of Racine, Howard (Julie) Herman, Jr. of Eau Claire; 6 brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Mary  is preceded in death by her brother, William Herman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 21, 2013, 11:00am, at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a “Thank You” to the third floor nurses at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints for the love and care given to Mary during this hard time.
