Mary Pearl Robbins

Oct 3, 1932 – Oct 5, 2008

Racine- Mary Pearl (nee: Dumas) Robbins, 76, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Sunday, October 5, 2008 as the result of a heart attack. Mary was born in Caledonia, Mississippi on October 3, 1932 to the late James “Jack” Ausbon and Mary (nee: Perkins) Dumas. She has lived in Racine since 1955. She was united in marriage with the love of her life, Noel Hayes Robbins, who preceded her in death in 2000. A proud and tireless homemaker, Mary devoted her life to raising her family. She was an active and faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. A beautifully spirited mother and grandmother, with a profound Christian faith, she placed her family and her God as priority one in life. Surviving are her children, Dorothy Cummings, Al (Faye) Robbins, Larry (Nettie) Robbins, all of Racine; Jerry Robbins of Kenosha; and Glen Robbins of Atlanta, GA; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera German of Racine; and by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Robbins; and sister, Nadene Guyness. A service celebrating Mary’s homegoing will be held in her beloved Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1250 Lathrop Avenue, on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Daryn D. Crenshaw officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am.
