
Racine- Mathew “Buddy” Thomas, Jr., 54, had his life senselessly taken from him by being fatally shot and killed in front of his home on Thursday, June 14, 2007. He was born in Minter City, Miss. on July 24, 1952 to Mathew and Margie (nee: Perkins) Thomas, Sr. Buddy has lived in Racine for over 25 years. He was quite often found peddling his bicycle around Racine, was a talented handyman and enjoyed helping others in need especially the elderly. Buddy had a gift of seeing the good in everyone no matter their status in life. May he rest in peace! Surviving are his children, Dwight Andrews, LaKesha Boyd, Sherrod Thomas and Quincy Thomas, all of Detroit, MI; 4 grandchildren; father, Mathew, Sr.; sisters, Nancy (James) McDougal and Viola (Ira) Jennings; brothers, Elder Jimmie (Yolanda) Thomas, Glenn (Annette) Thomas, Kent Thomas and Danny Thomas; his longtime companion, Patricia Broughton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his mother, Buddy was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jesse. Funeral services will be in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 1 pm with Elder Jimmie Thomas officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-1 pm.
