Michael G. Zanis

Jul 14, 1952 – Sep 28, 2007

Michael G. Zanis, 55, passed away at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee on Friday, September 28, 2007. He was born in Racine on July 14, 1952, the son of the late Gregory and Joan (nee: Marry) Zanis. Michael had been employed by Western Publishing Co. for over 14 years. He was a former member of the Instinctive Bowman. Michael loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his daughters, Stacey (Louis) Papas of St. Augustine, FL, and Kelly Zanis of Oak Creek, WI; granddaughter, Kailey Papas and soon to be born grandson, Ryder Papas; brother, Tom (Jacquie) Zanis; nephews, Lars and Garret Peterson; fiancée, Vickie Haertel all of Racine; Vickie’s son, Scott (Katie) Haertel of Milwaukee; his uncle and aunt, Tony and Judy Zanis of Racine as well as numerous cousins and good friends. The celebration of Michael’s life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 3, 2007at 6:00 p.m.. Relatives and friends can meet with the family from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In keeping with Michael’s wishes he was cremated. The family has suggested memorials to the Wisconsin Wildlife Association.
