Union Grove – Nancy L. Toothman, 77, formerly of Racine passed away at Burlington Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 and was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven. She was born in Racine on January 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel (nee: Potter) Overturf. Nancy was married to Richard Redding for nearly 40 years until his death in 1996. In 2000, she married Ernest G. Toothman, who passed away in 2016.

Nancy worked for many years with her husband, Richard Redding, running the family business, R&R Foods. Later in life she returned to school to earn her medical assistant degree and then worked as a phlebotomist in Kenosha. She was passionate about her genealogy and family tree, and was a member of the Mayflower Society. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and collecting antiques. Nancy was a longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully since the church was established 1996.

Nancy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time with her family. She is survived by her children: Richard D. (Denessa) Redding, Charles Redding, Terry Redding, Leslie (Mark) Breidenbach, and Wendy (Rob) Vesely; stepchildren: Judy (Charles) Anderson, and Karen Toothman; grandchildren: Jennilee (Eric) Gasparich, Stephanie (Justin) Hullum, Todd Redding, Aaron Redding, Heather Vesely, Joseph Vesely, Kara Breidenbach, James Breidenbach, Katie Redding, and Marie Redding; great-grandchildren: Madison and Reed Gasparich, Eva and Emilee Hullum; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5pm-7pm. Funeral services will be held in the Lighthouse Baptist Church (3301 Douglas Avenue) on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11am with Pastor John Dingman Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. All are invited to visit with the family at church beginning at 10am. Please consider donations in Nancy’s memory to Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
