Nell Joann Hile

Jun 9, 1932 – Oct 28, 2014

   RACINE – Mrs. Nell J. Hile (nee: Dykstra, Rasmussen), 82, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

   She was born in Racine on June 9, 1932, the daughter of Thomas and Cora (nee: Post) Dykstra.  She graduated from Washington Park High School.

   After her children were raised Nell worked for various employers including; Western Publishing, St. Mary’s Hospital and the Racine Board of Realtors.  

   In her earlier years she belonged to the Racine Bible Church.  Nell later attended Grace Church.  Her greatest joy came when she was in the presence of her children and grandchildren.

   Nell is survived by her daughters, Linda (Rick) Maroda and Pam (Steve) Miller both of Racine; her grandchildren, Rob (Jenny) Long of Waukesha, Heather (Marko) Stanosevic, Josh Maroda both of Racine, Tanya (Dwayne) Kittell of Racine, Jenny (Bryan) Darr of Elk Mound, WI and Ashley Miller of Racine; her 13 great grandchildren; as well as one sister, four brothers and many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Hile and by three sisters and one brother.

   Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2014 for a time to meet during a visitation with her family from 3-4 p.m.  A service celebrating her life will follow at 4:00 p.m.  A private interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.  Memorials in Nell’s name have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association. 

   A heartfelt thank you goes out to the entire staffs of Hospice Alliance and Lincoln Village Convalescent Center for the special attention and care that Nell received; especially from Betty, Jennifer and Marilyn during her last hours.
