Patricia Ann Hagemann

Apr 7, 1931 – Sep 17, 2015

Racine – Patricia Ann Hagemann, 84, was born into eternal life peacefully at home on Thursday, September 17, 2015, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Racine on April 7, 1931, daughter of the late William and Edllie (nee: Ingalls) McCarthy.

Patricia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Casper “Cap” Hagemann, on May 30, 1953.  Cap preceded her in death 11 years ago on the exact same day, September 17, 2004.

Patricia graduated from Park High School in 1949.  She worked for Johnson Wax prior to being a wonderful homemaker for her family.  Patricia also worked as a secretary for Modine Manufacturing prior to retirement.  Patricia was an elegant, beautiful woman and is described by many as a class act.  Everything that she touched was made beautiful.  Patricia enjoyed crafts, gardening, and cooking.  She will be remembered for such famous dishes as stuffed shells, Texas hash, and her fabulous desserts.  She loved shopping and always had a present for any occasion tucked away somewhere in the house.  Patricia was also a lover of music and was a concert pianist.  She taught piano lessons for many years.  Her love of music inspired family fun from singing in the car to singing around the campfire in the summertime.  Patricia treasured her family and cherished the time she spent with them.  She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lynn (Ken) Rustici of Racine, David (Robin) Hagemann of Racine, Michael (Louise) Hagemann of Naperville, IL, Kathy (Andre) van Commenee of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas (Rebecca) Hagemann of Racine; grandchildren, Sarah (Kris) Gerulski, Megan (Jeff) Swanson, Matt (Laura) Hagemann, Kyle (Ariana) Hagemann, Crystal van Commenee, Isabelle van Commenee, Ryelle Hagemann, Kyra Hagemann, Skyler Hagemann; great-grandchildren, Weston Gerulski, Truman Gerulski, Theo Swanson, Johanna Swanson, Caleb Hagemann, Joshua Hagemann, Isaiah Hagemann, Joy Hagemann; sisters-in-law, Jean Hagemann, Dorothy Feest; cousin, Gilbert (Audrey) Hagemann; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald McCarthy, Gerald McCarthy, and sister, Edllie “Boots” Jacobsen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015, 5:00pm until 8:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, 10:00am until 10:45am, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Terry Huebner officiating.  Cremation and private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery (Caledonia) will occur on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Pat’s favorite charity, The Salvation Army.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to the staff and residents at Primrose, the staff at Hospice Advantage, and Dorothy Whitehead for the love and care given to our mom and grandma.  Your kindness will not be forgotten.

Pat was always so calm and kind and extremely proud of her apartment. It was a bonus to see her at Primrose when we were visiting Mom Rustici. Lovely lunch companion, she will be missed by all who knew her.

I’m so sorry for your loss. As I used to call her Mrs. Hageman when I was a girl, she was such a good women, kind hearted. I was hoping to see her at Primrose when my mother moves there in a couple of weeks. Again my heart felt condolences to Lynn, David, Mike, Kathy, and Tommy for your loss.
