Kenosha – Patricia J. (nee: Jornt) Canfield, age 84, passed away peacefully at Brookside Care Center on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Pat was born in Kenosha on March 11, 1933, the first born child of the late Earl F. and Virginia (nee: Wade) Jornt. She was always thankful to her beautiful parents for the gift of life and her devoted faith. Pat was challenged academically in school, because of being dyslexic, but she certainly excelled in the area of the arts. From 7th grade on, she played trombone in band & orchestra and was a member of the CYO Band & the VFW Drum and Bugle Corps. Pat was a proud graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On September 6, 1952 she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Orville R. Canfield. In 1961, they moved to the Phoenix/Tucson, AZ area until moving to Orange Co., CA in 1969. After Orv retired from UPS in 1989, they came back to Kenosha.

Although her main vocation in life was being a stay-at-home mom, Pat owned & operated Canfield Custom Quilting, specializing in custom yacht interiors, in Orange Co., CA for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Parish, Racine Red Hat Society, Catholic Women’s Club of Kenosha and the Friends Forever Group. Pat was a phenomenal seamstress who enjoyed making doll clothing, clothing for her beloved daughter, bridesmaid dresses, and pillow cases – just to name a few. She was extremely artistic whose forte was decorating and designing.

Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Joan & Lyle Moody of Yuma, AZ; granddaughter, Virginia (Carl) Palm of Cocoa Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Wyatt Palm and Finley Chase Palm; sisters, Earlene (Mark) Girman, Juanita Becker and Rachel (Bill) Zahn; sisters-in-law, Betty Canfield, Judith Canfield and Barbara Girton; extended family, Robert & Suzanne Moran and their family; many dear nieces and nephews; fabulous neighbors; other relatives and friends from coast to coast.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orv (June 9, 2009); and brothers-in-law, Bob Becker, Roger Canfield, Richard Canfield and Jerry Girton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church, 2224 – 45th Street in Kenosha. Visitation will be at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 am (procession to church will begin at 10:45 am). Interment will be in Green Ridge Cemetery. Memorials to the Sisters at Holy Rosary has been suggested by Pat.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
